Schuette Movers has been in the structural moving industry since 1946. During that time, many unique moves have been accomplished. We are fully insured with a clean reputation and many happy clients. Much of our business results from word of mouth and repeat clients. Over the years, just about any obstacle imaginable has been overcome to make various moves possible.

We've gone over bridges, meeting the bridge span per guidelines. Our team works in all weather, year round. We can move a single home, building or machine, a whole street or development of buildings for improvement projects, and even whole towns. In 1955, Cleveland Cliffs, a mining company in Republic, MI decided to change their operations to open pit mining.

This created the need to move 81 homes and their landmark church. Our moving team was able to successfully complete the task. The scope of structures we have moved is immense. They range from average ranch style homes to 400 ton (or more) solid masonry buildings. Our scope is not limited to buildings alone, we've moved various machines and equipment; including a 170 ton steam locomotive and 130 ton transformer.
Services
While this may sound rather simple, successfully moving large, cumbersome, heavy, small, weird shaped structures of various types is anything but simple.
Lighthouses, hotels, movie theatres, airport terminals, barges, ships, bridges, grain elevators, houses, libraries, transformers, draglines, and viaducts are all examples structures and buildings we have moved.
Moves such as these occur daily across North America and around the globe.
In fact, relocating structures is the world's oldest and largest recycling industry.
A: Is it physically possible to move the house to the area you are considering?
Are there narrow or busy roads, bridges, utility lines, large trees, traffic lights or any other obstructions that would physically prohibit the move?
Although it is possible to have some of these things temporarily removed, it may not be financially feasible.
Some of our customers have had some utility companies offer to raise lines for free while others have given bids of $50,000 or more.
Remember too, that the house will be higher once it is on the beams and ready for relocation.
